June 21

June 21, 2013

Today is my b day I turn 10 at 2am,   I got a ps3 and MLB 13 the show.

I went to see the jays play in Toronto with my grandpa and they won.  Adam Lind hit a 3 run homer with Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion on base  to take the lead. Poppa had box seats that were really high up, there were lots of foul balls but none came as high as we were.

I saw the Detroit Tigers play the Indians at Comerica Park and they won. The tigers won.  My teammate Lukie Dukie, my dad and Luke's dad went. We sat right above the visitor's dugout (Cleveland).  Luke's dad almost got a foul ball but the guy behind us caught it. Dad and I weren't there when that happened, we were looking for Cotton Candy.

This week my brother had his whole baseball team over and I was the only girl there , everyone played baseball and went on the water slide , after 45 minutes it started raining so we went down to the basement  everyone went on the play station and I did my special effects on them one guy had a animal scratch running down his back and a vampire bite. Another guy got a gun shot wound. It was much better than having a bunch of girls there being afraid of the ball.

What a busy couple of weeks.  Rob and Adam went to the Detroit Tigers game with a buddy from the Jackets team. Then we went to the State Tournament in Grove City, OH. Just outside of Columbus. On the way there the kids and I stopped at the Columbus Zoo. They had many animals that were different from the ones at the Toledo Zoo so despite the 90 degree weather we ventured forth anyway!  We saw Manatees, Puma and Kangaroo! I'd love to do it again on a cooler day.
The weather after that was terrible and the first day of games was cancelled. On Friday the boys played two games - they won one and lost one. Saturday they played 3 games. They won the first 2 and lost a heartbreaker for the third. They ended up 16/43 teams. It was good to get home but we all had fun.
Then we turned around to head to Toronto for birthday celebrations. We enjoyed lots of family time and ate lots of frozen fruit ice cream from St. Clair's. My favorite every year.
We quickly turned around and headed South for Adam's baseball game, which they won handily.
This Saturday with no baseball scheduled Adam invited all the boys over for his birthday party. They played baseball outside and played on the slip and slide until the thunderstorm came. Then they headed inside for playstation and xbox and some special fx by Caitlyn.
Adam is very excited to go shopping with the gift cards he received from his buddies. They were very thoughtful!

Tomorrow is the start of another week of tennis camp, dodgeball and baseball (5 games this week).
Then we are heading up to the cottage!  Tune in for my summer adventures.

June 5

Today was my first day of summer vacation. I wrote 3 letters in French to my friend and my cousin.
Mom and I watched NCIS and Mission Impossible.
Later we went out to Blue Pacific for dinner and went looking for some tennis shoes. I found a really cute shirt but it was too big for me.

Today was my last day of fourth grade. We watched the movie, "Sky High". We had popsicles for a treat at school today and played "Duck, Duck, Goose". It was fun.
- Adam

This morning was much more relaxing without having to get Caitlyn to the bus by 7am!
We packed up Adam's teacher gifts including a stop to pick up flowers for one of the secretaries.
When we arrived home after dropping him off we discovered that our praying mantis egg sac was hatching. It reminds me of the movie, "Aliens" but its kinda cool to watch.
They are supposed to be good for eating pests in the garden.  They are smaller than the width of my baby finger when they hatch.

Tomorrow is a 1/2 day at work for me. Then Caitlyn has tennis and Adam has baseball.
Friday we are either going to a new wildlife rehabilitation center, http://backtothewild.com/ or to Comerica Park for a tour of the Tiger's Stadium in anticipation of the game Rob and Adam are going to on Sunday.

June 3

Today was my 2nd to last day of school.I did a egg drop. So we went to the top of the bleachers and dropped the egg ,but while we were up there most of the kids got afraid because we were so high that if you fell you would get paralyzed. There were only a few kids that weren't afraid of heights .Me Dillon and probably a few of the guys that are sportsy. So then my friend Connie went and she had a parachute as big as me so I had to help her, but it worked. Then it was my turn I had one of those beer can cover things to keep your hands from getting cold and a ziplock bag for a parachute. It worked.

The highlight of my day.... the hummingbirds are using my window feeder! They are scared of me when I move to take a picture but I'm determined to keep trying!!  Adam has a baseball game tomorrow.

2 more days of school left. I had a fun day playing dodgeball outside at recess. I got a couple of people out and caught a few.  At lunch I got to go and watch a movie, "Bill Nye the Science Guy - space" and have dessert with Mrs. Johnson and some other kids.  I won this as a prize from my tickets. I earned the tickets by picking up scraps through the year.
In art we threw away our projects after we did them (mom's note - can you tell art is not his favorite subject!)

June 1

HAPPY JUNE 1!!
I have this great idea that this blog will help keep anyone who's interested current on our summer adventures AND it will keep the kids writing through the summer.  However, today I'm writing the first post.
This morning we went to the community garage sale! Adam was the big treasure hunter today.  He picked up this great goalie poster,

a gift for the school guidance counselor and a chess set.  He's teaching Caitlyn how to play chess now!!!

This afternoon we're off to Michaels for some crafty supplies that Caitlyn and I NEED and then up to Tam - O for Adam's hockey game.
Let us know what you think about our posts and what you're doing to entertain yourself this summer.
xoxo
